Our Story as a Family-Run Shop
Pellman’s Automotive is a family-owned and operated auto repair shop proudly serving the Boulder community since 1995. From the beginning, our mission has been simple — to provide honest, high-quality automotive service with a personal touch. We’re more than just a repair shop; we’re a family of dedicated professionals who truly care about our customers and their vehicles. Over the years, we’ve built long-lasting relationships based on trust, transparency, and exceptional service.

The People Behind the Name
Lisa, a third generation Coloradoan, was born and raised in Boulder and met Brad, who grew up in Longmont, while in high school. Brad always had an affinity for cars and worked a variety of jobs in the automotive industry starting at the age of 15. After a few years in college, Brad realized that his true passion was helping people with their cars. So in 1995, they launched Pellman’s Automotive and committed themselves to building a high quality automotive repair business that addressed the needs of their customers. Pellman’s started out small – with just two employees (Brad and Lisa!) and one bay. Over the years their shop has grown to the 18 employee shop it is today. In 2025, Pellman’s Automotive proudly celebrated its 30th anniversary, marking three decades of service, growth, and dedication to the Boulder community.
As their shop became successful, they started devoting time to improving the automotive repair industry and have both served on regional and national industry boards and councils. Brad was on the ASA Colorado Board from 2010 to 2019 and served as the Chairman for 5 years. Brad has served on the ASE Board of Governors since 2013 and was named the Chairman in 2022. They both have enhanced their business by attending training throughout the years as avid lifelong learners.
They have spent their lives as Boulder residents and business owners and have raised their family here. They are committed to their community and truly care about their customers, employees and the environment.

Leadership You Can Trust
As the front man for Pellman’s for over 28 years, Dan Levin has become almost as well known to Pellman’s customers as Brad and Lisa Pellman themselves!
Dan is no stranger to being a frontman. For several years, he performed locally with two Colorado-based bands, Airtight Experiment and Fina Dupa.
Working with people and helping fix things has always been a driving interest in Dan’s life. After high school, he traveled through Europe while searching for a path that felt meaningful. A couple of short stints studying psychology and biology confirmed something important: fixing people is hard—but helping them solve their transportation needs is fun and rewarding.
Dan was between jobs in 1997 and needed repairs on his car. Brad Pellman, who was just starting his business, was his mechanic at the time. Dan asked if he could work off some of what he owed for the repairs. Brad agreed, and before long, Dan discovered he loved learning about and working on cars. As business grew, Brad offered him the role of Service Advisor.
It’s now been 28 years, and Dan says, “Being able to find a career with a company that cares about the community as much as Pellman’s does is a blessing.” These days, he’s no longer playing in bands—raising his daughter with his wife, Torii, is his top priority—but his role at Pellman’s gives him the community connection he loves. Many customers have become as much friends as they are clients.

How We Give Back
At Pellman’s Automotive, supporting our Boulder community is a core part of who we are. We proudly donate to local causes and participate in the annual Brakes for Breasts campaign to help fund breast cancer vaccine research. We also host educational car care clinics for drivers of all ages, giving people the knowledge and confidence to stay safe on the road. Our team regularly partners with local schools, nonprofits, and community organizations to offer hands-on learning opportunities and provide support where it’s needed most.
In addition to these ongoing efforts, we continue to give back through free oil change events for local charities, volunteer groups, and organizations that are making a difference. Over the years, we’ve supported groups such as Meals on Wheels, Voices for Children, and local nurses during Nurses Month. These events are one way we show our appreciation for the individuals who serve our community every day.
We also remain committed to supporting local schools through donations and community involvement. As long-time Boulder residents and business owners, we believe in contributing to the success and wellbeing of the families and students in our area.

Can you do the repair I need?
Yes. We’re a full-service auto repair facility equipped to perform almost any repair or maintenance your vehicle may need. Our team uses advanced diagnostic tools, top-quality parts, and ongoing training to ensure accurate, reliable service.
Do you work on my make of vehicle?
We service all domestic and Asian import vehicles, including gas-powered and hybrid models. Our technicians are trained across a wide range of brands. For a full list of makes and models we service, click here.
What maintenance will help my car last longer?
Regular oil changes, inspections, fluid services, and following your manufacturer’s maintenance schedule are key to extending vehicle life. We can review your vehicle’s needs and help you stay ahead of costly repairs.
Can you perform factory-recommended maintenance on my new car?
Yes. We can complete all factory-recommended services to maintain your new car’s warranty.
Can you take care of recall repairs?
Only dealerships can perform recall work, but we’re happy to help coordinate it and can take your vehicle to the dealer for recall repairs while it’s with us for other services.
Do you offer a warranty on repairs?
Yes. We offer a 3-year/36,000-mile nationwide warranty, giving you long-lasting protection and peace of mind across the U.S. and Canada.
Do you provide digital inspections?
Yes. We send a detailed digital inspection with photos and videos directly to your phone, giving you a clear and transparent look at your vehicle’s condition before approving any work.
Do you offer rides or after-hours drop-off?
Yes. We offer shuttle rides, loaner bikes, and 24-hour drop-off and pick-up options to make service easy and stress-free.
Do you service hybrid or electric vehicles?
Yes. Our technicians are trained to service hybrid and electric vehicles, including battery system checks, diagnostics, and general maintenance.
Do you provide estimates before repairs?
