Tire Rotation & Wheel Balance

Tire Rotation & Wheel Balance - Recommended every 6,000 miles/or 6 months

Wheel Balance Service Includes: The wheel is mounted on a balancing machine which spins the wheel to locate the heavier part. A lead weight is then attached to compensate for the heavy part. Many people are pleasantly surprised at how smooth their car drives after balancing all four wheels.

Why: Out-of-balance tires cause a car to vibrate at certain speeds, usually between 50 and 70 mph. A tire is out of balance when one section of the tire is heavier than the others. One ounce of imbalance on a front tire is enough to cause a noticeable vibration in the steering wheel at about 60 mph. Most high quality tires will hold their balance fairly well and go out of balance very gradually. If you notice a vibration that wasn't there the day before, it is possible that one of the lead balancing weights fell off.

Tire Rotation Service: Tire rotation helps protect tires against uneven wear by moving the tire location on the vehicle. Most tires will exhibit some form of wear based on numerous factors including: wheel alignment, miles driven, driving style and habits, and tire location on the vehicle. By moving or "rotating" the tires as recommended by the vehicle manufacturer, tires may wear more evenly; helping extend total tire life.

Why: Tire rotation and wheel balancing will prolong the life of your tires and can lead to a more comfortable ride.
