Certifications and Affiliations
Pellman's Automotive Service have received the following certifications. Click on a
logo to go to the web site of the sponsoring program or organization.
AAA Approved Auto Repair
AAA doesn't recommend business to their members lightly; because of their high standards and guidelines, only 3% of all Boulder County auto repair shops are AAA approved.
And even then, winning the AAA's approval isn't like winning a race, where you get your blue ribbon and go happily on your way. Approval is just the first step of a rigorous, on-going process.
AAA Approved Auto Repair shops are required to survey their customers regularly to get consistent satisfaction feedback. Customers fill out CSI postcards that are submitted directly to AAA. Shops are also inspected annually, to make sure standards continue to be met in every area, including service and repair, management and corporate procedures. When a repair shop's approval rating fails to live up to the AAA's standards, it can lose its status.
Pellman's Automotive is proud to be in the very elite group of AAA Approved Auto Repair facilities. We work very hard to maintain our status, turning in great survey results year after year. In fact, our most recent survey-related customer satisfaction rating was 100%!

ASE Blue Seal of Excellence
Hanging in our office you'll see a framed certificate displaying the ASE Blue Seal logo. This is another
coveted symbol of recognition - one earned by only 1% of all auto repair shops!
The ASE - an independent, non-profit organization - was established in 1972 with the mission to improve
high-quality vehicle repair and service, and help clearly identify superior technicians and facilities to the public.
Technicians become ASE certified through a series of thorough, national qualifying tests on the most up-to-date
methods of repair and latest vehicle models. Certification is available in eight areas of automotive maintenance
and repair: Engine Repair, Engine Performance, Electrical/Electronic Systems, Brakes, Heating and Air Conditioning,
Suspension and Steering, Manual Drive Train and Axles, and Automatic Transmissions. Additionally, to be certified,
technicians are required to have at least two years of relevant full-time hands-on work experience in the motor vehicle
service industry. Automobile Service Consultant and Parts Specialist certifications are also available through their own series of tests. A re-certification test is required every five years to retain the ASE certification, and because of new technologies, tests change frequently. Therefore, to remain certified, technicians must stay current on new technologies as they're developed.
All Pellman's Automotive employees are ASE certified and we proudly display their credentials in our office. This reflects
not only each individual technician's knowledge and skills, but it also provides some insight into our commitment to ongoing
expertise. Four Pellman's Automotive employees are designated Master Technicians, which means that they are certified in all
eight areas of repair. We also have one technician who has his Advanced Engine Performance Test Certification.
ASE takes certification one step further by recognizing highly qualified repair facilities through their Blue Seal of
Excellence Program. The program's emphasis is to identify establishments with a large percentage of ASE-certified
professionals and a commitment to excellence. It recognizes not only the individual technicians, but also the businesses
striving to be the best overall; businesses that are willing to prove their commitment through the certification and
on-going training of their staff. Pellman's Automotive has been an ASE Blue Seal shop for as long as the designation
has been available.
At Pellman's, we're very proud of the trained and certified technicians and service professionals who make up our team.
We take ownership of and support their continued expertise by paying for a minimum of 80 hours of training per technician,
annually. We also invite trainers and manufacturer reps to come into our shop and do in-house trainings periodically.

CARQUEST Excellence Award
Every year since 2006, Pellman's has been nominated for the CARQUEST Excellence Award. This award
recognizes independent automobile service businesses that demonstrate excellence in the automotive
repair field.
The award is based on such criteria as industry involvement, training and certifications,
community involvement, shop appearance and customer service.
To be considered for the CARQUEST Excellence Award, first Pellman's had to be nominated (we were!).
Next, we were required to submit a list of operational information, and to be mystery shopped. The combined
results were analyzed by a group of independent industry representatives and experts who chose ten finalists
from across the entire United States, and one from Canada.
Pellman's Automotive was in the top twenty in 2006,
the top ten in 2007, and we currently serve on the advisory council.
